Cargill Sugar trades raw sugar in bulk, white sugar in bags and containers, and ethanol from offices located in Geneva, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Dubai, Gurgaon and Miami. It originates sugar from the world's leading sugar producing countries, including Brazil, where it co-owns and operates a major sugar export terminal. It ships and distributes sugar to customers, industrials, distributors and end users through offices in Egypt, China, Russia, Mexico, United States, South Africa and other consuming countries worldwide.
In South Africa, Cargill Sugar is one of the biggest sugar importers in the country. The operation is located in Montague Gardens, approximately 10 kilmetres from Cape Town port. White Refined Sugar (IC45), White Crystal Sugar (IC150), and Light Brown Sugar (VHP) is imported in containers from Brazil and Thailand, it is then repacked on site and distributed to leading food companies in South Africa. Cargill Sugar also imports organic products from Brazil which are marketed under the name Real Organic Foods. The organic range consists of sugar, coffee and cocoa mix which is distributed from Cape Town to Gauteng. The business is built on good customer relationships, a focus on quality and ensuring a constant supply of sugar.
